The nine great pearls were Nangong Cheng's life-bound artifact, known as the "Mishui Pearls."
He had obtained this set of artifacts from a ruin during an off-world group cultivation excursion shortly after joining the Qionglu Society. At the time, the Society's experts had distributed them to him. They seemed to have no other use beyond breaking all Tiangang Disha, and they were exceedingly heavy besides.
Yet the Qionglu Society's administrator at the time had sworn up and down that this set of artifacts suited him perfectly, so he had accepted them with half-belief and half-doubt.
Not long afterward, he discovered that the administrator had spoken true. These nine "Mishui Pearls" seemed to share a peculiar affinity with him. Not only were they exceptionally handy to wield, but refining them was swift as well.
This set of artifacts had already been refined through ninety-six layers, reaching the Sixteen Heavens. After acquiring them, he had spent more than a century refining them anew, then pushed them in one stroke to the Seventeen Heavens.
His comprehension of the "Dark Domain" after attaining True Personhood was also closely connected to them.
Enhanced by his "Dark Domain," their force outweighed ten thousand jun, crashing down with lightning speed—a nightmare for any enemy.
Yet on the other hand, had he not poured so much effort into these "Mishui Pearls" that he could not pull himself free, he would not have attained longevity only a few years ago, and with such an unstable foundation at that.
