The great amplitude of the "rubbing" and the speed of its transformation caused the currents to churn. Within the already dark and indistinguishable water mirror, it was as if a layer of ink had been brushed away, sketched with freehand splashed-ink technique and taking shape in an instant. In a flash, it was as though countless Profound Armor Soldiers were walking down from a "screen," a dense and oppressive mass.
At first they were somewhat blurry, but afterwards their outlines grew increasingly distinct, making one realize that this was by no means any illusion.
The Profound Armor Soldiers held halberds and weapons, forming their own battle array. Once they materialized, they charged into battle in a massed formation, and vast swathes of ghosts were churned into pieces by the sharp blades and currents. After a single exchange, at least over fifty percent had been wiped out.
These nether-spirits and ghosts should not naturally have been so incompetent; in truth, every single Profound Armor Soldier was covered in spiritual light with the ability to vanquish evil and dispel defilement, making them a natural nemesis for ghosts.
Among the ghosts there were also ferocious and brutal ghost generals of a sort who counterattacked fiercely, slaying quite a few Profound Armor Soldiers as well. Yet good times did not last long: after a few breaths, in the center of the heavy Profound Armor phalanx, a banner suddenly erected itself. Its spiritual light burned brightly, inscribed with divine script whose meaning was unfathomable.
Beneath the banner stood a majestic figure with a dark face and armor, a battle robe draped over his exterior. Ripples flowed like scales around his body, as though water dragons were coiling about him. Behind the back of his head was even a circle of light, within which water ripples
