He barely had time for that single oath before gathering his focus. The immediate sensation was somewhat strange; his soul and vital energy suddenly felt heavy, as if two lodestones had been attached to them, making his previously smooth circulation sluggish.

Yet soon, as Yu Ci grew accustomed to this state, the circulation actually became slightly denser with the addition of the foreign element, digesting the "alien" in the process—the change was quite minute, and if Yu Ci had not been paying close attention every moment, he might have missed it.

This "alien" was precisely the most valuable thing among the three-lights essence of the sun, moon, and stars and the extraterrestrial miscellaneous qi that he had "snatched down" from the heavens back when he used the Jade Empyrean Spirit Awakening Art to open the heavenly gates: the Essence Profound Truth.

The Essence Profound Truth, fully named the flower of profound truth, was also called "Essence Profound Truth" by some cultivators, and was a specialty of the Outer Domain of the Nine Heavens. Its origins had always been somewhat controversial:

Some said that it was the seed of spiritual nature born in the vast universe, a pure state unstained by the "turbid qi of the six desires," carrying innate vitality that would evolve into various living beings once tainted;

Others said that it was the most primordial and clean Innate Vital Energy, of which only a single thread could be seen at special times and special nodes of its germination;

Still others said that it was issued by a tiny bit of the primordial spiritual object remaining since the creation of the world, containing a navigational beacon to trace the source and
