Chapter 77: Nest

As the fish-dragon swam about, Yu Ci observed the surroundings within.

At first glance, he knew that this enormous cavern, opened five thousand zhang below, was absolutely not some isolated space sealed within the thick cliff wall. Otherwise, there was no way to explain the scattered bones, blackened bloodstains, and that sleeping nest padded with dry grass.

A wild beast?

He first affirmed that guess, but Yu Ci quickly grew puzzled again. If this was a wild beast's nest, then where was the entrance? Judging by the dry-grass bed, the beast living here was probably quite large. It could not possibly squeeze in through a crack thinner than a finger like the fish-dragon, could it?

Staring at the cavern structure displayed by the Zhaoshen Map, Yu Ci saw that the cave was vast and straight, without a single bend from end to end, nor any obvious rises or dips. If a torch were lit, it could probably illuminate the very end at a glance. Such a cave...

He suddenly turned his head. Not far beside him, his naked eye still saw a dark, heavy cliff wall, no different from the surroundings, equally solid and seamless. Yet what the Zhaoshen Map showed was an entirely different scene.

Beyond this section of cliff wall lay that gigantic cavern. And the distance separating the inner and outer spaces was...

Zero? Yu Ci suddenly struck out. Ignoring the appearance of the thick cliff wall before him, he drove his fist straight ahead. The instant his knuckles touched the rock face, it was like breaking through a membrane. Then his arm passed through.

On the other side, within the Zhaoshen Map, half of Yu Ci's arm was clearly visible.
