"Medo has fallen! Bukado has fallen! Anzburundo has fallen! Chongba has fallen! Zoule has fallen! ..."

As reports from the front lines arrived one after another, the strategic advisers once again changed marker after marker on the stellar strategic map to fallen status.

As they watched one star system after another being devoured by the enemy on the strategic map, the upper echelons of the legions under the Sacred Wurm State felt an unprecedented heaviness in their hearts.

Aside from the Assassination Legion, the state's other legions had also completed their transfers and joined the battle against the native enemy.

Yet the situation had not improved as the Sacred Wurm State's upper ranks had expected. The enemy continued to invade the state's star territory with overwhelming force, and countless worlds had become occupied zones.

And the issue that the legion leaders found most incomprehensible became increasingly apparent.

"How is this possible?! Why are these natives' fleets growing larger the more we fight them?"

"They're merely natives from a single planet. Where did they get so many people to operate warships? Even if one person operated one warship, they couldn't possibly field fleets of this size!"

At first, the legion leadership had planned to rely on their immense war capacity to stretch out the front line, forcing the enemy to lose sight of the bigger picture and suffer a total collapse.

This was a common strategic approach when the many fought the few. Usually, the side with fewer people had two choices: one was to expand their front lines alongside the larger force, while the other was to stand by and watch the larger force expand its front lines.

The former would weaken the smaller side's combat strength, since an expanded front line would result in insufficient strength in localized areas.
