Solid-State Brain

Solid-state brains were a technology researched by the Collectors. They could also be understood as genetic blueprints for a biological organ. The primary reason for attempting to design this entirely new kind of brain was that the Collectors needed to upgrade their own brains.

For instance, even if a Collector's body could withstand an unbraked hard landing from hundreds of meters in the air, that did not mean its brain could withstand it... Of course, impact resistance was not the only concern. There were improvements in every other aspect as well. Just as mothership organisms surpassed leap organisms, the Collectors wanted an epoch-making brain that would comprehensively surpass the organic brains currently built from nerve cells.

Thus, the Collectors turned their attention to computers. They wanted to combine such advantages as a computer's sturdiness, durability, and rapid data processing with the organic brains they currently used. This was the original concept behind the solid-state brain.

However, there was one obvious issue in the development of solid-state brains that needed to be resolved—how could they ensure that, after applying this new type of brain, the Collectors' modes of thought would remain unchanged and unaffected?

At first, the Collectors considered directly loading their thoughts into a computer, completing the transfer of thought first and considering computer optimization afterward.

Forcibly transferring thought would not work. It was like the same set of data producing two entirely different results when interpreted by a binary computer and a ternary computer.

Therefore, the computer needed to "understand" the Collectors' thoughts. But how could a computer be made to "understand" them?
