Contracted Region

A wave was the propagation of vibration. Take shaking a rope as an example: the rope formed a wavelike line, with upward-curving convex lines called "crests" and downward-curving concave lines called "troughs." If one selected any point on the waving rope for observation, the crests and troughs appeared to continually move forward as a whole, while the chosen "observation point" merely moved up and down without moving forward.

Analyzing its structure revealed that waves could be canceled out. If another wave existed whose crests and troughs were completely opposite, the two waves would cancel each other out and disappear upon meeting, because they had already offset one another.

The inverse-wave method mentioned by the Collectors operated on this principle. After learning the frequency information of the microwaves released within the laboratory, they specifically generated microwaves of opposing frequencies. Once the two microwave signals met, they canceled out invisibly, allowing the exploratory roots to penetrate deeper into the place protected by the laboratory's defensive mechanisms.

After advancing roughly twenty meters and bypassing several obstacles, the Collectors' roots came into contact with a sealed area within the ruins. This area was the source of the microwave radiation. With it as the center, microwaves radiated outward in all directions.

This unknown area was not particularly large, covering roughly twenty-five square meters. There were no gaps, no doors, and no traces of assembly, as though it had been a seamless whole from the moment of its creation.

"To achieve this, the manufacturing process would need to reach at least the molecular level."

"Fortunately, it hasn't reached the atomic level. Otherwise, we wouldn't be able to get in."

One of the Collectors remarked in relief. Although this sealed area had been manufactured into a completely enclosed, seamless state without even a crack to be found,
