The Collectors subsequently ceased all radio communications with the Kersians. Even when the Kersians initiated contact, they received no response. The Collectors intended to prove their words through action, making the Kersians clearly understand that they had no bargaining chips.

Above the barrier, organisms capable of deflecting starlight were cultivated. They were called light panels, organisms designed long ago whose primary purpose was to redirect starlight—hence the name: plate-shaped organisms that deflected light.

Their overall design was slightly concave, somewhat like bowls, though their curvature was shallow. Their surfaces consisted of silicon coated with silver, formed into a scale-like structure. Tentacles extended from gaps between the scales at regular intervals to clear away accumulated interstellar dust, ensuring their reflectivity did not decline.

Unlike the light panels of the past, the Collectors added small pieces of proton lattice into their scales, significantly improving their reflectivity.

These light panels were positioned in low orbit, redirecting starlight into Kersian cities.

Other than that, the light panels had no other function.

From the day the light panels entered practical use, the Kersians beneath the protective shield were astonished to discover several additional suns above their heads.
