The Collectors returned to the room where the shield generator had originally been placed.

"Is there something wrong with this shield generator?"

"There shouldn't be, right? We already conducted molecular-level inspections."

Within the life field, a Collector asked the fellow kin who had proposed the idea.

"There is a problem, and it is one we subconsciously overlooked before."

The Collector who had asked the others to return to the shield generator was in no hurry to explain. Instead, it gestured for its kin to observe their surroundings. "Look around. Compare the differences between the new buildings and the old ones. Does anything seem strange to you?"

The Collector that had instructed its kin to inspect the surroundings complained before explaining.

"In the new buildings' design, the shield generator is protected layer upon layer. But in the old buildings' design, the shield generator is used as the building's spire."

"Logically, that should not be the case. Even in the ancient era of the Kess people, shield generators held an extremely lofty status. Something like this should have been heavily protected. What was the point of placing it at the top of an old building as its spire? Was it meant to be a lightning rod?"
