The Kessians' Little Scheme

"Hadn't you already made contact with the Spirit Realm? Why were you still so fixated on the Spirit Realm passage we found?"

"It's like this. Although some talented Kessians can communicate with the Spirit Realm, only they can do so and enter it. Ordinary Kessians have no means of reaching the Spirit Realm, nor any opportunity to communicate with the creatures within it."

The Kessian representative explained truthfully in response to the Collectors' question.

Having been frightened by the Collectors just now, the Kessian representative no longer dared to play any tricks. He would be gambling with the life and death of his entire civilization.

After all, the Kessians could not even defeat the Zerg. How could they possibly defeat the even more powerful Amoebas?

"So you hoped to use the Spirit Realm passage we found to establish broad contact with the Spirit Realm?" a Collector asked for confirmation.

"The higher-ups believe that would better serve our interests. Having lost the resources of every celestial body in the star system apart from our homeworld, we Kessians need to find another way out. We ask for the Amoebas' understanding," the Kessian representative replied.

Through the earlier probing, the Collectors' behavior had made the Kessian representative understand how seriously the Amoebas regarded the Spirit Realm, as well as their attitude toward it.

He vaguely guessed that the creatures of the Spirit Realm were hostile to the Amoebas.

If that were true, the Amoebas might see him as a troublesome element that needed to be removed. They might even arrange an "accident" or an assassination, so he could not shoulder the blame alone. The Kessian representative had his own little scheme.

If it involved a group of people, then even if the Amoebas took action, their methods should be gentler.
