The Origin of the Mutation

The insect race was born on an Earth-like planet called Tyr. This planet had no oceans, only lakes scattered across its surface. The earliest insect race was nurtured within these lakes, large and small.

However, the insect race of that era could not yet truly be called the insect race. They were merely mindless savage beasts. From microscopic single-celled organisms to all manner of macroscopic lifeforms, they used deception, slaughter, camouflage... anything and everything to survive. In short, whatever existed on other planets with complex ecosystems existed on this planet as well.

Every so often, Tyr was bathed in ionizing radiation. The intensity was not especially high—only enough to destroy the genes of lifeforms across a vast area.

The reason was that the massive celestial body Tyr orbited was not a star, but a relatively slowly rotating neutron star. The neutron star's pulsar beams did not strike Tyr directly, but scattered ionizing radiation still reached the planet.

The first creatures on Tyr to crawl onto land could not adapt to the terrestrial environment. Even though Tyr's atmosphere filtered out much of the neutron star's ionizing radiation, greatly weakening it, countless creatures still inevitably died from exposure. Only aquatic creatures were spared, as water itself was a natural radiation shield.

The seeds remained, and aquatic creatures continued to venture onto land one after another.

Tyr was a planet with more land than water. There was far more room to survive on land, and as long as Tyr's creatures did not lose their instinct to survive, they would not be content to remain in the lakes.

They feared neither life nor death, only fought to survive!

After countless ages of extinction and rebirth among terrestrial lifeforms, creatures on Tyr finally evolved genes with powerful radiation resistance and climbed onto land to explore
