"Upload this civilization's informational data into the Oracle Megastructure. The cluster needs to acquire this unfamiliar civilization's language as soon as possible."
The cluster leader issued orders to the cluster. Individuals responsible for receiving radio signals gathered the broadcasts from planets within the star system that actively emitted radio waves stronger than normal, then relayed those signals to the Oracle Megastructure within the cluster.
Like the other megastructure organisms, the Oracle Megastructure had achieved faster-than-light travel. Its appearance had changed somewhat as well, though not drastically overall.
The original Oracle Megastructure had been a regular octahedral structure, identical in appearance to the first biological megastructure in Amoeba history. Though its internal structure was exceedingly complex, its exterior had always been simple.
The Collectors had made some improvements to the Oracle Megastructure's octahedral structure.
Two disk-like structures, similar to the Star Devouring Megastructure, stood on either side of the octahedron. Their surfaces were parallel to each other. Then, a long gravitational ring ran straight from the center of one disk's face into one vertex of the octahedral structure, emerged from another vertex, and connected to the center of the other disk's face.
After such a simple modification, the Oracle Megastructure gained faster-than-light capabilities.
The radio signals gathered by the Collectors were fed into the Oracle Megastructure. With a wealth of text available for analysis, deciphering the language did not take long.
The Collectors gained a preliminary grasp of the Dessa language. They had yet to master its more complex aspects, but simple diplomacy was no longer a problem.
Just as the Collectors were preparing to establish diplomatic contact with the Dessa ruling government within the star system, the Dessa unexpectedly contacted them first.
In truth, by analyzing radio signals from outside the star system, the Dessa had long since learned part
