In space, a group of intelligent beings with wildly varied appearances crossed the void in their physical bodies. Compared to the god races, however, they were much easier on the eyes. At least humans would not lose their sanity and go mad from looking at them—they would only find them ugly.
These intelligent beings wore clothes, and their clothing was basically identical. Anyone with a discerning eye could tell at a glance that they belonged to the same faction.
At the front of the group was their leader, a humanoid creature with an elephant-like trunk.
Hearing the leader's shout, someone among the intelligent beings asked,
"Will those things really obediently follow our guidance and appear at the ambush point?"
"That is not something you should concern yourselves with. Master has already arranged everything."
The trunk-nosed leader answered. After a brief pause, he warned them again.
"I need to remind you all of something. When we encounter those gods at the ambush point, no one is allowed to provoke them. This is a joint operation. Master has ordered that all grudges be temporarily set aside for the greater good. Do you understand?"
"Then... what if the gods provoke us first? Are we supposed to tolerate it?"
"No. That will not be necessary. We cannot bring shame upon Master. That is the bottom line."
