When Have I, System, Ever Lied to Anyone?

"You say I abused her?"

System raised an eyebrow slightly. That was indeed what had happened, but hearing it stated so bluntly made System very unhappy.

Looking at his weapon spirit, System knew that the bird-person Shalin of old was gone forever. All that remained was this interloper who had seized the magpie's nest.

"Your Eminence, please don't abuse her anymore," Hild pleaded.

Though her temperament differed from Shalin's of old, she still looked frail and pitiful, giving no hint that she was a fallen demon of envy.

Sensing Hild's emotions, System seemed to think of some underhanded scheme. The corners of his mouth curled up slightly as he said, "Didn't you always want to defeat her? Why are you worried about her now?"

At System's words, Hild's mouth fell slightly open, her expression somewhat blank.

"I... I don't know." Hild murmured, then her expression gradually turned resolute. "But I... I want to protect her."

As she spoke, Hild took out a tissue through the Super Network and carefully wiped Lez's mouth.

And as Hild did so, System's smile deepened. Then his face instantly changed into one of fury as he shouted, "Despicable!"

System's furious denunciation of her despicable behavior left Hild somewhat startled. She clearly did not understand what System meant by doing this.

Then, in the next moment, System walked over to Hild, snatched away the tissue she was using to wipe Lez's mouth, and hurled it to the floor!

System loudly rebuked her, "Shameless! Why didn't you wipe her mouth when you fed her milk earlier? You let her suffer for several hours, and now you're putting on this hypocritical act of wiping her mouth! You vicious demon!"
