System had originally thought Zhang Wuji was going to give him some tasteful little trinkets he could display in his office to cheer him up.

But by sensing Zhang Wuji's emotions, System realized that was not the case.

It was probably something more serious.

In fact, ever since he had overturned God Above Gods Li Fool, System had basically received no grave news at all.

So he was somewhat curious about what Zhang Wuji had to say.

Just as System had sensed from his emotions, Zhang Wuji wore a solemn expression and soon began telling System all manner of complicated things.

Zhang Wuji spoke of the relationship between Earth Star and the plot worlds—when the various plot worlds completed their dimensional ascension, Earth Star would also complete its ascension at that time.

Beyond that, Zhang Wuji also spoke of how he had gone to the Greek Mythology World and obtained the Trident of Poseidon, which could summon Poseidon, god of the sea.

Of course, none of that was the main point.

What Zhang Wuji wanted to tell System was that he had heard a strange voice in the gap between Earth Star and the Greek Mythology World.

Though he could not understand what the voice was saying, after gathering some corroborating evidence, Zhang Wuji vaguely guessed that it came from a higher existence—one that was very likely controlling the entire world.

Perhaps afraid that System would not believe him, Zhang Wuji saw System's furrowed brow and spent a long time explaining. So long as System agreed to the trade, Zhang Wuji could even imitate and repeat that voice for him.

Zhang Wuji clearly did not know that System had long since learned, through his other selves on the world lines, of the predicament he would face in the future.
