Every world had all manner of legends.
Some legends had truly happened in history, while others were illusory.
It was said that the gray, murky sky had once been blue, and that many green plants called trees had grown across this land. They were far larger than the poisonous thorns growing from the foul-smelling soil, bore no venomous hooked spikes, and some trees could even produce juicy, edible fruit.
"The juice in those fruits must have been very clear, right?"
As little Alan swallowed the wheat seeds the old lich had casually scattered on the ground, he recalled the legendary tales his grandfather had once told him.
In Alan's eyes, the trees from those legends should have been precious plants capable of purifying filthy water. After being cleansed by the trees, purified water would appear within the fruit they bore.

Normally, this would have been nothing.
But this was the Science-Magic World, where water was an extremely scarce resource.
Because of that water ball the old lich had casually thrown onto the garbage heap, little Alan shot forward at once.
Alan did not take the water from the old lich's cup. Instead, he
