Background / History

Transmigration and the Saiyan invasion

Li Wei arrived in the Dragon Ball World during Age 762, shortly before Vegeta and Nappa's planned invasion of Earth. Initially distressed by possessing only an ordinary Earthling's body, he awakened the Check-in System and used his first annual check-in to obtain Noah's Light. The light fused with him, making him Noa's inheritor. 1

Using Ultra Telekinesis, Li Wei detected the Saiyans' spacecraft and contacted Son Goku on King Kai's Planet across the boundary of the afterlife. His warning brought Goku back to Earth early, preventing the Z Fighters from facing the invasion without him. 1 3

During the invasion, Li Wei exposed a battle power of 10,000, seized Nappa's Saibamen seeds, and used Cultivators grown from them to defeat Nappa and humiliate Vegeta. After Vegeta fled, Li Wei recruited the abandoned Nappa by promising to train him beyond Vegeta's level. 3 4 6

Universal Technology Company

After the battle, Li Wei established Universal Technology Company and appointed Goku and Nappa as its chief and deputy chief of security. He arranged for Bulma to build a gravity chamber, installed it at the company, and used his own gravity manipulation to train the two Saiyans. 7 8

Namek and Frieza's subjugation

Li Wei brought Goku and Nappa to Namek after detecting Frieza's arrival. When Goku was overwhelmed, Li Wei healed him and transformed into Noa, revealing a colossal silver giant form that overpowered Frieza. 8 12

Rather than kill Frieza, Li Wei chose to subdue and “educate” him. He later used the Hyperbolic Time Chamber to force Frieza and King Cold through intensive instruction on “love and justice,” after which both submitted to his authority. 14 16

Li Wei also healed Namek's Grand Elder in return for Goku and Nappa having their potential unlocked. He promised to protect Namek from Vegeta's impending arrival. 15

Saiyan mentorship and expansion

Li Wei guided Goku through his first Super Saiyan transformation by teaching him to awaken the form through a peaceful heart rather than anger. He later extended similar guidance to Vegeta, Broly, Nappa, Raditz, and Cumber. 19 24 32

He recruited Broly and Paragus after subduing Broly's berserk state, placing Broly under mental training at Noah's Temple and employing Paragus at his company. Li Wei eventually helped Broly gain initial control over his power. 23 24 27

Ikaros and later conflicts

A year after obtaining Noah's Light, Li Wei's next check-in granted him Ikaros. He destroyed her collar and chain, remade her into a true living being with Noah's Light, and accepted her as family. 26

He later revived Raditz out of curiosity over his possible potential, defeated him when he became hostile, and placed him under Vegeta's training. He also crossed into another universe to capture and eventually subdue Cumber. 27 29

Li Wei intervened repeatedly in major threats to Earth and Universe 7, including Cell, Babidi's forces, Majin Buu, Beerus, and Champa. He separated Majin Buu into Fat Buu, Evil Buu, and the resurrected Grand Supreme Kai, allowing the latter to return to his role. 41 43 48

When Beerus challenged Earth, Li Wei defeated the God of Destruction in a sparring match after transforming into Noa. Whis later treated Noa with great caution after receiving a warning from the Grand Minister not to offend him. 61

He considers Earth his responsibility and repeatedly acts to protect it, though his idea of “education” often involves overwhelming force and extended combat training. He spared Frieza, King Cold, Raditz, Cell, and Majin Buu rather than immediately executing them. 6 16 28 42 48
