"It's nearby, about three kilometers away from us," Bulma said to Indra.

As they spoke, a child carrying a huge fish came racing over from afar.

"What a strange kid..." Bulma stared at the child in surprise.

The child was none other than Goku.

Goku had just caught a large fish from the river and was about to take it home to eat. The moment he saw Indra and Bulma, he immediately stopped.

"Hi, you two." Goku waved.

"You're quite strong for a kid," Bulma greeted him.

"Who are you?" Goku asked innocently.

"My name is Bulma, and he's my brother-in-law, Indra," Bulma introduced.

"What's a brother-in-law?" Goku scratched his head in confusion.

"A brother-in-law is..." Bulma got a headache.

Why was she even explaining this?

"Do you live on Mount Paozu?" Bulma changed the subject.

"Mm-hmm, my home is up on the mountain." Goku pointed in the direction of his house, then at the huge fish behind him. "Come with me. It's been a long time since I've seen anyone around here. I'll treat you to fish."

"Brother-in-law, what do you think?" Bulma asked Indra.

"Let's go take a look." Indra knew that the first Dragon Ball was in Goku's home.

After going to Goku's house, they indeed found the first Dragon Ball without any trouble.

What followed was almost exactly the same as the story in the original Dragon Ball.

However, because of Indra's involvement, the things Goku had done to Bulma naturally never happened.

With Indra there, how could he let anyone bully his sister-in-law?

A day later.

Indra, Goku, Bulma, and an old turtle encountered Master Roshi by the seaside.

Twelve years had passed, and the old turtle had completely forgotten Indra. He only remembered that Indra had worn armor back then, while his appearance had become somewhat blurry.

Even Master Roshi had only met Indra once.

Moreover, Indra had been floating in the air at the time, so neither the man nor the turtle had seen him clearly.

After seeing Indra by the sea, Master Roshi fell silent in thought for a moment. He found Indra somewhat familiar, but could not remember where he had seen him before.

Master Roshi gave Goku a Flying Nimbus and handed the Dragon Ball to Bulma before leaving with the old turtle.

Master Roshi sat atop the old turtle's shell, lost in thought.

"Master Roshi, what are you thinking about?" the old turtle asked.

"That young man named Indra looks a little familiar," Master Roshi mused.

"Master Roshi, you've met countless people. There must be plenty who look familiar to you, right? Why not just say that Miss Bulma looks familiar instead?" the old turtle said with a smile.

"You really do understand me." Master Roshi laughed heartily.

After successfully obtaining the Dragon Ball from Master Roshi, Indra continued onward with Bulma and Goku.

Soon after, the three arrived at Oolong's place and rescued those girls from him.

When they reached a vast desert, just like in the original story, Bulma accidentally lost her box of Capsule Corp. Capsules. Exhausted, she collapsed onto the ground and fell fast asleep.

Whoosh!

Someone rode a motorcycle rapidly onto the scene.

It was Yamcha, the self-proclaimed Desert Bandit.

"Hand over everything valuable you have," Yamcha said, drawing a machete.

Swish!

Indra casually waved his little hand.

Yamcha froze for a moment, feeling as though something was missing from his body.

What was going on?

"Puar, keep an eye on them for now. Why do I feel like something's not right?" Yamcha frowned.

"Lord Yamcha, what happened?" Puar asked curiously.

"I'll go check over there." With that, Yamcha hurried into a dark corner to inspect his body.

"You'd better not move. If you dare resist, Lord Yamcha will kill you!" Puar threatened.

"Hurry up and give them your valuables," Oolong said to Indra.

"Pigs, want some?" Indra said with a smile.

"It's a time like this, and you're still making such pointless jokes!" Oolong shouted.

Puar: "..."

"Be serious. This is a robbery," Puar said, glaring.

"Huh? You're Puar? You were my classmate at the Transformation Zoo!" Oolong suddenly remembered something.

"I recognized you ages ago. Shut up!" Puar snapped.

"Ah! It's gone!"

Just then, Yamcha could be heard shouting loudly in the distance.

"Lord Yamcha, what happened? What's gone?" Puar hurriedly flew over and asked curiously.

"My... my... it suddenly disappeared!" Yamcha collapsed limply to the ground, his face turning increasingly grim.

"What?" Puar was baffled.

What had disappeared?

Just say it already.

"Here..." Yamcha pointed at his pants.

"Huh? It disappeared? How is that possible?" Puar was stunned.

"There's a monster here!" Yamcha's face went pale with fright. Forgetting all about the robbery, he sped away from the scene.

Indra watched Yamcha leave with a smile.

All those guys on the way to find the Dragon Balls who had improper thoughts about Bulma had been dealt with.

That counted as completing the task Tights had assigned him.

After a month-long journey, Bulma and the others had finally gathered all seven Dragon Balls.

However, Indra had already slipped away quietly by then.

In the end, Bulma failed to have her wish granted and returned home with regrets.

"Bulma, you're back?" Tights waved to her.

"Huh? Sis... um... I..." Bulma stammered, her gaze darting away as she had no idea how to explain herself.

"What's wrong, Bulma?" Tights asked, looking puzzled.

"Sis... I lost my brother-in-law... sob..." Bulma burst into tears.

"You lost your brother-in-law? What do you mean?" Tights looked at Bulma in confusion.

"My brother-in-law suddenly disappeared while we were looking for the Dragon Balls... and then he never showed up again..." Bulma said, wiping away her tears.

"Your brother-in-law came home ten days ago," Tights said, scratching her head. "Didn't he tell you?"

"Huh? He came home?" Bulma's eyes widened as she dashed toward Indra's room.

Their eyes met.

"Brother-in-law!" Bulma shouted.

"Bulma, you're back? Did your wish come true?" Indra asked.

"What do you think?" Bulma glared at Indra.

"It's fine. If Earth's Dragon Balls can't grant your wish, there are still Planet Namek's Dragon Balls. Once the spaceship is repaired, we'll make another trip to Planet Namek. All three wishes will be yours," Indra said with a smile.

"Brother-in-law, you're terrible! You came back and didn't even say anything! You had me worried about you for so long—I thought you'd been eaten by a monster!" Bulma took a deep breath, glaring with wide eyes as though she wanted to rush up and scratch him.

Meanwhile, Goku moved his home to Master Roshi's island.

"Grandpa, I'm here to train with you, just like we agreed!" Goku called out to Master Roshi, who was watching a TV program with beautiful women dancing.

"Uh... okay... okay," Master Roshi nodded, though his eyes never left the television.

"Grandpa, I'm hungry," Goku said.

"There's food in the fridge. Help yourself," Master Roshi said, pointing at the refrigerator.

Goku took out all the food in the fridge and ate every last bit of it.

Afterward, Goku wandered around the island and spotted the Divine Sword lying on the ground.

"What's this?" Goku looked puzzled as he reached out to pick up the Divine Sword.

However, no matter what he did, Goku could not move the Divine Sword even an inch.

"What is this thing?" Goku scratched his head. "It's so strange."

Just as he spoke, Master Roshi came out of the house.

"That was a Divine Sword given to me by a master," Master Roshi said with a smile.

"But Grandpa, I can't lift it," Goku said.

"That's exactly right. Only those who possess the spirit of martial arts and a heart of justice can wield this Divine Sword," Master Roshi said with a smile.

"Grandpa, I don't understand what you're talking about..." How could Goku understand such profound principles? He immediately looked at Master Roshi with some excitement. "Then Grandpa must be able to use this sword, right?"

"Of course," Master Roshi said with a smile.

"Grandpa, can you show me?" Goku asked excitedly.

Master Roshi: "..."

I was just saying that casually, and this brat actually believed me?

Master Roshi silently looked at the Divine Sword lying on the ground, feeling somewhat at a loss.

If I could move this sword, would I have left it lying here?

"By the way, what did you come here for?" Master Roshi quickly changed the subject.

"I came to train under you, Grandpa," Goku replied.

"Training with me... is very tough," Master Roshi said with a smile.

Kids really were easy to fool.

Time passed quickly.

Indra had also stayed at Bulma's home, experiencing the World Martial Arts Tournament alongside her.

After the World Martial Arts Tournament ended, Goku began a new journey to search for the Dragon Balls.
