Indra knew that Tao Pai Pai would appear during this period.
However, Indra was in no hurry to erase Tao Pai Pai.
Tao Pai Pai had not died after battling young Goku. He would reappear at the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament.
It would not be too late to erase Tao Pai Pai then.
After all, once Tao Pai Pai was erased, it would still be several years before Nappa descended upon Earth.
Several more years passed.
Young Goku and Krillin had grown into adults as well.
Over the years, Goku's greatest goal had been to lift the divine sword resting on Master Roshi's island.
Yet after all these years, the divine sword still lay there, never having moved even an inch.
Goku, You Have a Son? (Bonus Chapter for Wo Sui Ta De Ren's Reward)
Master Roshi had also found all sorts of excuses not to touch that sword.
Meanwhile, Indra had successfully found Tao Pai Pai and tearfully erased him.
I finally found you.
I nearly lost track of you.
Had he known it would be this troublesome, Indra should have followed young Goku to Korin Tower back then and erased Tao Pai Pai directly.
Having erased Tao Pai Pai, Indra patiently waited for his next prey.
The next person to erase was Nappa.
Judging by the time, he would still have to wait a while.
After Indra's patient wait, the day Raditz descended upon Earth finally arrived.
That day, Indra accompanied Tights and Bulma to Master Roshi's island.
Son Goku had also brought Gohan to the island for a visit, since his son Son Gohan was already five years old.
"Huh? Goku, you already have a son?" Bulma exclaimed. "Time really does fly."
"Haha, yeah." Master Roshi nodded.
"Today, I'm definitely going to lift this divine sword!" Son Goku silently walked over to the sword, and his aura gradually rose.
The next moment, Son Goku grabbed the divine sword with both hands and tried to lift it.
Yet no matter how hard Son Goku tried, he still could not move the divine sword in the slightest.
"Still no good..." Son Goku shook his head in disappointment.
"Goku, don't waste your energy. I think Master Roshi was just fooling us. This thing must be enchanted, otherwise how could it be impossible to move?" Krillin said with a laugh. "Maybe even Master Roshi can't move it."
Bang!
Master Roshi punched Krillin's bald head.
You brat, why are you telling the truth?
"Ow, ow!" Krillin clutched his head.
"I think this divine sword might recognize its master," Master Roshi sighed. "Just like in Tights's novels, this thing is some kind of spiritual treasure. Only its owner can use it; no one else can move it."
"That's just a novel... You actually believed it?" Tights did not know what to say.
"Brother-in-law, why don't you give it a try?" Bulma called out.
"Bulma, if I lift it, wouldn't that make them lose face?" Indra smiled and lowered his voice beside Bulma's ear.
Bulma glanced at Indra.
Brother-in-law, you really know how to brag.
You're just a magician.
Just a magician who can erase things.
My sister told me all about it.
"Huh? Someone's coming?" Son Goku suddenly looked into the distance.
"Someone? Is it Tien Shinhan and the others?" Bulma asked curiously.
"No, seems like a stranger." Son Goku shook his head.
"I have a bad feeling about this." Master Roshi frowned.
Whoosh!
The next moment, Raditz appeared high in the sky. Looking down at everyone present, his gaze then settled on Son Goku.
Smack!
Raditz descended from the sky and landed directly in front of Son Goku.
"Kakarot, I finally found you. You look exactly like our father." Raditz smiled at Son Goku.
"Who are you?" Son Goku looked utterly confused.
"Kakarot, have you forgotten? You're a Saiyan, a member of the warrior race. We're the greatest warriors in the entire universe!" Raditz said proudly. "And why are there still humans on this planet? What happened to the mission I gave you? Why haven't you completed it yet?"
"What are you talking about? You're spouting drunken nonsense in broad daylight. It's not good to drink yourself into that state." Krillin waved a finger as he walked over.
"Krillin, don't go near him!" Son Goku shouted.
Bang!
With a casual sweep of his tail, Raditz sent Krillin flying.
Krillin slammed heavily into the wall behind him, howling in pain.
"Krillin!" Son Goku was alarmed.
"I'm fine... still alive..." Krillin struggled to get back to his feet.
"You bastard!" Son Goku flew into a rage and was about to attack when he noticed the tail behind Raditz in shock.
"You finally remembered?" Raditz smiled.
"Y-you... why do you have a tail?" Son Goku looked at Raditz in confusion.
"Kakarot! Did you hit your head and lose your memory?" Raditz was so angry his nose practically twisted out of shape as he shouted at Son Goku.
"I think so. I remember hitting my head once. Why? Is there a problem?" Son Goku asked in return.
"That explains it. I was wondering why you'd forgotten everything!" Raditz smiled faintly and looked at Son Goku. "Kakarot, you're a Saiyan of the warrior race, and I am your older brother, Raditz."
Everyone was stunned.
This man was actually Son Goku's older brother?
"He finally found a relative, but it turned out to be someone so evil." Bulma felt sorry for Son Goku as well.
"The material here is pretty good... I never expected there to be a story like this behind Goku. I need to write it down." Tights pondered as she picked up a pen and began taking notes.
Bulma: "..."
Master Roshi: "..."
"Sis, is this really the time to be looking for material for your novel?" Bulma shouted.
"You're already such a famous novelist..." Master Roshi scratched his head too.
"Precisely because I'm a famous novelist, I can't relax because of that. I still need to keep working hard." Tights gently shook her head. "Besides, I don't seem to have made much progress these past years... It feels like I've been living off my past success."
"You woman! Shut up!" Raditz was so angry his nose nearly twisted out of shape.
Why did you have to interrupt me?
"Let's get back to the point." Raditz continued. "Saiyans were already a small race to begin with, and several years ago, the Saiyan planet was struck by a meteor and tragically destroyed. Kakarot, our parents both died in the planet's explosion. I only survived because I happened to be on another planet carrying out a mission with two companions."
Son Goku: "..."
"Recently, my companions and I discovered a rather valuable planet. The three of us would have a hard time taking it, so I thought of you, Kakarot. Although your fighting power is still quite average, I believe that with our training, you'll be able to grow quickly." Raditz continued.
"Go back. I won't kill innocent people." Son Goku shook his head and refused decisively.
"Heh heh heh, I noticed it already. That child beside you is your son, isn't he?" Raditz looked toward Son Gohan.
"No! Of course not!" Son Goku hurriedly denied it.
"No need to hide it. Isn't the tail behind him the best proof?" Raditz smiled faintly and moved to grab Son Gohan.
Son Goku immediately readied himself for battle.
Bang!
With a light punch, Raditz struck Son Goku directly in the abdomen.
Son Goku crashed to the ground.
Other than Indra, everyone was stunned.
Son Goku had actually been knocked down by his older brother with a single punch.
The gap between them was far too great.
Smack!
Raditz stepped forward and grabbed Son Gohan.
Son Gohan burst into loud tears, trembling all over in fear.
"By this time tomorrow, kill one hundred Earthlings, and I'll return your son to you and acknowledge you as a member of our team. It's that simple." Raditz smiled faintly as he prepared to leave with Son Gohan.
"Wait a moment." Master Roshi suddenly called out.
"What is it, Earthling?" Raditz asked with a smile, looking at Master Roshi.
"See that sword? If you can lift it, I'll let Goku follow you to fight on other planets," Master Roshi said.
"Who the hell are you?" Raditz sneered. "Your power level isn't even close to Kakarot's."
"I know I'm not as strong as Goku right now, but I was his first martial arts teacher. He'll listen to me," Master Roshi said, looking at Raditz. "You said you wanted him to kill a hundred people, but Goku would never do that. I can persuade him to go fight on other planets with you. Of course, that's assuming you can lift that sword."
Raditz glanced toward the divine sword.
"Hmph, it's just a lousy sword." Raditz smiled disdainfully, strode over, and bent down to grab it.
So heavy!
What the hell is this thing?
Impossible. I can lift an entire mountain—one from Planet Vegeta, even.
And here on Earth, a planet with only one-tenth of Planet Vegeta's gravity, I can't lift a single longsword?
Raditz pushed his energy to its absolute limit.
Yet the divine sword did not budge in the slightest.
Raditz's face turned red, his expression shifting again and again.
"Master, why did you make him lift that divine sword?" Krillin asked, puzzled.
"I wanted to see whether he was stronger, or the person who left that sword behind all those years ago was stronger," Master Roshi said quietly.
"He can't lift it... Even though he's so powerful, he still can't lift it?" Krillin was stunned.
Master Roshi's expression changed repeatedly.
Just how powerful must that person I met back then have been?
