Background / History
Mei Ye was originally a student in another world who had failed his postgraduate entrance examination. He awakened in the body of a trainee Demon-Suppressing Guard while a Dog Demon consumed the remains of the previous body's colleagues. The body's former owner had been poor, withdrawn, and considered weak by his peers. His parents were Southwest farmers who had moved to North River to earn a living. 1 7 10
After discovering a merit-based system that can enhance and fuse martial arts, Mei Ye killed the Dog Demon and used its rewards to accelerate his cultivation. He subsequently uncovered Pang Yu's involvement with demons and killed him, beginning his investigation into the attack that killed his fellow guards. 1 2 4
Wei Wushuang recognized Mei Ye's potential after he killed a cultist and advanced to the ninth level of the Body Tempering Realm.
