(This chapter includes quite a few of my own additions. After all, Sanshui had explored the ocean far too little.)
Colossus was also quite interested in the "little turtle" before him. Before coming here, he had heard Jin Buhuan say that the Holy Hall Orca Clan had left the waters near Sea God Island alongside a sea soul beast less than three hundred thousand years old. At first, he had assumed it was some other type of whale soul beast. Yet after pursuing them along over half of Douluo Continent's coastline, he discovered upon seeing it firsthand that it was a turtle with a considerable dragon bloodline.
Moreover, judging from how the little turtle had attacked the moment it saw him, Colossus, its purpose should have been to protect the Holy Hall Orca Clan. However, Colossus still did not know why they had traveled so far from the vicinity of Sea God Island.
What surprised Colossus even more was Baxia's strength. He could clearly sense that Baxia's cultivation had not exceeded three hundred thousand years, yet the combat power he displayed already surpassed that of most four-hundred-thousand-year sea soul beasts, particularly Baxia's use of his Soul Power.
For large sea soul beasts, controlling the Soul Power within their bodies was an extremely difficult task. It was much like how, in the real world, the speed at which animals' nerve signals traveled through neurons often did not increase along with their size. The larger an animal was, the slower its movements tended to be. This theoretical framework could also, to a certain extent, explain why large soul beasts on the fantastical Douluo Continent struggled to control their Soul Power.
But this was, after all, a fantasy world. Such problems could be solved by spending money—ptui! They could be solved through cultivation.
