Mo Lin's eyes lit up as he looked at Qiuniu. He nodded and decided to explain things to them a little, giving them a fresh perspective and subtly guiding their thinking:
"You heard correctly—it is related to humans. Through the knowledge Lady Winged Dragon gave me, as well as the historical legends of the world she came from, I learned that that world also had many birds and beasts similar to soul beasts (see the Classic of Mountains and Seas). They were more often called demon beasts there. But humans did not need to hunt and kill them to break through their own bottlenecks. Although humans would still hunt them for various reasons—for instance, the desire for food; as everyone knows, the Classic of Mountains and Seas was an ancient Chinese cookbook—
In the end, though, such cases were rare. Conflicts between humans and them were few, and certain special demon beasts were worshipped by humans for various reasons. Take the Qilin, for example. In that world, people regarded Qilin as auspicious creatures. According to their legends, wherever a Qilin stepped, it would bring good fortune to the people there. They firmly believed Qilin were auspicious beasts that dispelled disasters and solved difficulties, drove away evil spirits and demons, protected homes and warded off misfortune, and brought wealth and promotion. The Phoenix was the same.
So, their abilities could be used in battle, but battle was not their destiny, nor was it their primary purpose."
The five local dragon sons' eyes flickered, as though they had seen the doorway to a new world. Qiuniu in particular, being the dragon son who disliked fighting the most, greatly longed for this kind of relationship between humans and soul beasts. It was not because he wanted to be worshipped by humans or anything;
