They had considered the possibility of defeat during the tournament, but they had never imagined losing to seven puppets—and suffering such a crushing defeat at that. They had not even managed to take down a single puppet.
Mo Lin stood before them.
"Now you see it, right? You're still far too lacking! From now on, you'll have two training sessions against the puppets every week. If you still can't take down even one puppet, then don't even think about getting a good ranking!"
Thunderclap Academy's team leader had witnessed the entire process firsthand. The students he had been so proud of had been utterly powerless before those seven puppets. After Mo Lin put away the Six Harmonies Pearl, he stepped forward and asked him, "Elder, roughly how strong are these six puppets?"
"They should all have the strength of level forty-five Soul Ancestors. If they consume too much Soul Power, their combat strength will drop to that of Soul Elders," Mo Lin answered.
The teacher let out a long breath.
"That's good, then."
"Good?" Mo Lin's tone was full of disdain. "Do you know how many academies will be able to field a full lineup of Soul Ancestors by the finals? I'm hoping you can place in the top three in this tournament. And you should know that these seven puppets I made can only fight automatically according to my settings. They aren't like real people who know how to adapt. I'll heal their injuries later. Once they wake up, take them back with you!"
The next day, Mo Lin arrived at the VIP seats of the spirit arena as usual. He was especially curious about today's match between Shrek Academy and Blazing Academy.
