Xiao Yi Xian was somewhat tempted, but for some reason, she still shook her head and politely declined. "Maybe another time."

Before long, an eagle cry rang out from the sky. The Blue Eagle broke through the mist, spiraled down from above, and landed beside them.

More than an hour later, Xiao Lei had just dealt with a Tier 2 Magical Beast and was about to collect its corpse and Magic Core when he suddenly sensed hurried footsteps approaching from his left.

Xiao Lei raised his brows slightly. He did not deliberately avoid them, instead continuing toward the Magical Beast, digging out its Magic Core, and storing the corpse in the System Space as well.

At this moment, a group of more than ten people came running over in panic, stopping not far from Xiao Lei.

With a casual glance, Xiao Lei recognized them as members of the Blood Battle Mercenary Group, one of Green Mountain Town's three major mercenary groups.

Back when Xiao Lei had been a lone mercenary in Green Mountain Town and escorted Xiao Yi Xian and the Ten Thousand Medicines Hall's people to gather herbs, he had dealt with them before.

"Young Master Xiao, run! A Beast Tide is coming!"

Just as Xiao Lei recognized the Blood Battle Mercenary Group's members, they recognized him as well. Their leader, Fei Lei, shouted at him.

"A Beast Tide?" Xiao Lei's heart stirred slightly at the words. He immediately activated Sharp Ears and listened toward the direction from which the Blood Battle Mercenary Group had come.

Very quickly, Xiao Lei heard more than ten Magical Beasts of different kinds running at high speed in that direction.

These Magical Beasts were of different species. Under normal circumstances, they would never move together, yet now they had gathered in one place and were running at an astonishing speed.

Xiao Lei could even "hear" the terror on their faces, as though something dangerous was chasing them from behind.

Not only that, but even farther away, more and more Magical Beasts were rushing from the depths of the Demon Beast Mountain Range toward its outskirts.

Of course, not all of those Magical Beasts were charging in their direction.

The Magical Beasts ran extremely fast. After everyone had delayed only briefly, more than ten Magical Beasts came charging toward them.

Among them were three Tier 2 Magical Beasts, and even one Tier 3 Magical Beast!

These Magical Beasts seemed not to see Xiao Lei and the others at all, continuing to run at full speed.

Upon spotting Xiao Lei and the members of the Blood Battle Mercenary Group, bloodthirsty glints flashed through the eyes of the dozen Magical Beasts as they suddenly charged in to attack.

"Defend together!"

Seeing this, Fei Lei, the leader of the Blood Battle Mercenary Group, felt his heart sink. He could only shout to the mercenaries beside him.

Though nervous and afraid, they still raised their weapons, preparing to fight these Magical Beasts to the death!

Xiao Lei frowned slightly at the sight. Dou Qi surged within him, and Purple Dou Qi instantly gathered in his palm as arcs of purple lightning flickered continuously.

Xiao Lei swung his hand and fiercely struck down at a First-Class Magical Beast charging toward him.

As the palm strike shot out, the sound of rushing thunder seemed to ring through the air.

In an instant, a purple Dou Qi palm imprint slammed viciously into the Magical Beast's head.
