A Stalemate of a Battle

On the arena, a purplish-red spinning disc wrapped in fierce winds howled as it slashed toward Goku.

Goku abruptly shifted sideways, barely dodging it. The disc grazed past him, streaked swiftly past Hercule and the reporters behind him, shearing off several strands of hair before exploding thunderously against the ground in the distance.

Krillin's face was full of disbelief as he cried out, "That's... the Destructo Disc?"

Cell formed another Destructo Disc in his palm and threw it. Goku retreated to evade it, but the disc clung to him like a festering bone wound, locking onto his energy and relentlessly pursuing him.

Krillin was now certain it was his technique, unaware that on Namek, Frieza had used an even more advanced tracking version of the Destructo Disc.

On King Kai's Planet, King Kai marveled at what kind of monster Doctor Gero had created, but he was not worried in the slightest—he knew Lord Malvis would never allow Cell to live and wreak havoc across the universe.

Cell controlled the tracking Destructo Disc with his fingertips, hounding Goku without pause.

Goku did not dare let his guard down. If that move so much as grazed him, he could lose a limb; at worst, he could be cut in half on the spot.

Yet Cell had long since learned the weakness of this technique from Frieza's cellular memories. He also saw through Goku's seemingly frantic evasions and recognized the scheme hidden beneath them. Sure enough, the very next second, Goku flew straight at him.

A cold smile curled across Cell's lips as he formed another Destructo Disc in his palm and hurled it head-on. The disc sliced straight through Goku's body—the one behind him pierced through his back as well—but not a drop of blood spilled. It was only an afterimage.
