In the vast, starry expanse of the universe, a spaceship drifted slowly forward.
Inside the cabin, within the Gravity Chamber.
Son Gohan was sweating profusely.
The gravity was set to 1,400 times, a notch higher than it had been in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.
He maintained his Full-Power Super Saiyan form, his golden hair spiked upward, his energy contained and as calm as still water.
Sweat rolled down his forehead, only to be yanked down by the terrifying gravity before it could even hit the floor, slamming against the deck with a sharp splat.
He performed some simple basic training—a few squats and another set of push-ups—his muscles straining and progressing under the extreme weight.
His mind, however, was preoccupied with something else.
Logically speaking, with over a thousand times gravity pressing down inside the ship, the hull structure should have collapsed long ago.
Even if it didn't collapse, the engines would have to burn fuel like crazy to counteract the load, and the speed would surely have slowed to a crawl.
Yet, after so many days, the ship was perfectly fine, flying as steady as could be.
He quickly concluded in his mind that it must be an independent spatial structure.
Universal Capsule technology already utilized space-folding techniques; the Gravity Chamber likely operated on a similar principle, where the gravity only took effect within the chamber itself without impacting the ship as a whole.
Otherwise, someone with a scientific mind like Bulma would never have overlooked that point.
Having figured this out, Son Gohan stopped worrying about it and buried himself back into his training.
The days repeated one after another.
Eat, train, sleep, then train again...
Although it was somewhat monotonous, he had long since grown accustomed to it.
Suddenly, on one day of training.
Son Gohan was doing pull-ups, his fingers hooked onto the metal bar, his body rising and falling rhythmically under the pull of gravity.
Then, he sensed a strange disturbance coming from the Dimensional Seed deep within his consciousness.
The seven-colored crystal vibrated gently.
Shortly after, his dantian began to heat up.
Son Gohan jumped down from the bar, landed on the ground, closed his eyes, and sank his consciousness into his body.
He then detected something deep within his dantian, sprouting and growing ever so slightly.
Slowly, a small Internal Space began to emerge.
It was only about two or three square meters, pitch-black and chaotic inside, containing nothing at all.
Son Gohan opened his eyes and couldn't help but laugh.
Having an Internal Space was a good thing.
He untied the cloth bag from his waist, which still contained a few Senzu Beans. He took one out, placed it in his palm, and focused his mind.
Whoosh—
The Senzu Bean vanished from his palm.
The next moment, the bean was resting quietly in the small space deep within his dantian, the emerald green legume sitting motionless in the darkness.
Son Gohan's eyes lit up.
"Interesting."
He took the Senzu Bean out and put it back in. He took it out again and put it back in, repeating the process several times.
Then, he took a plate of roasted meat and put it inside. After an hour, he took it out, and it was still hot, the meat still sizzling with oil.
This thing even had a preservation function? No, it was time stasis.
He rubbed his chin and pondered for a long while before the realization slowly dawned on him: although this Internal Space was small right now, it had been opened up during the growth of his power.
Does that not mean—as his strength grew, this space would also continue to expand? Right now, it was a storage space, but perhaps in the future, it could turn into an independent little world.
And what about after that?
Could it eventually develop into an entirely independent universe?
Son Gohan couldn't help but feel even more expectant. He tucked all the Senzu Beans into his Internal Space, clapped his hands together, and stepped back into the Gravity Chamber.
Train hard.
There was still a long road ahead.
He hoisted several hundred kilograms of dumbbells onto his shoulders.
Under normal circumstances, this weight would be nothing. But under 1,400 times gravity, those few hundred kilograms felt like a heavy mountain, making his bones creak and groan.
With every squat, his knees trembled and his thigh muscles ached unbearably, but he kept insisting to himself: "Pain is good; it means the muscles are growing."
After a while, sweat poured off him like rain, and he reached out to press the gravity switch.
Click. The gravity instantly returned to zero.
In that instant, his entire body felt so much lighter; this sense of relief was as addictive as a rush of dopamine.
He dragged his aching body into the bathroom, where the hot water washed away the sweat and exhaustion, leaving him feeling refreshed and invigorated.
Then, it was time to get some food.
Son Gohan walked into the dining room and opened the storage cabinets.
Aunt Bulma was certainly thoughtful; knowing how much a Saiyan could eat, she had packed the place to the brim.
Steaks, pork chops, chicken, ham, and all kinds of meats were fully stocked, while ingredients for ramen, sushi, fried chicken, and tempura were neatly organized in their own sections—the cupboards were overflowing.
Most of it was semi-processed, requiring only a quick heating to be ready to eat.
He rolled up his sleeves and got to work; oil sizzled in the frying pan, and the meat on the iron plate gave off a mouth-watering aroma that made him salivate just hearing it.
The broth in the ramen pot bubbled away, a whole platter of sushi was already laid out, and the tempura was fried to a golden, crispy perfection that flaked at the touch.
The table was soon piled high with food.
Son Gohan picked up a piece of grilled meat and shoved it into his mouth; the fat melted on his tongue, releasing a flood of juices. He grabbed another piece while still chewing, his cheeks bulging.
Next came the ramen. He slurped down seven or eight bowls, the broth rich and savory. He popped the sushi one by one, the wasabi stinging his nose and making him squint as his chopsticks darted back and forth between the plates.
Finally, it was time for the spicy fire noodles.
He soaked over a dozen packs at once, mixing them thoroughly with the bright red chili sauce until the noodles were coated in crushed seaweed. This stuff was addictive—the spicier it got, the more he wanted to eat.
When he finished the last bowl, his stomach felt warm, and he was comfortable from the inside out.
He leaned back in his chair, rubbing his round, full belly.
This meal had easily accounted for thirty or forty thousand calories.
He thought to himself that the Saiyan constitution was truly amazing; no matter how much he ate, his body digested it quickly and his metabolism was even faster. Everything he consumed was converted into energy in minutes, so he never had to worry about gaining weight.
He didn't have to concern himself with calorie counting, protein, carbohydrates, dietary fiber, or any of that nonsense—he could just enjoy the delicious food.
Pure bliss...
Son Gohan let out a satisfied burp, strolled leisurely toward the bedroom, and flopped onto the bed.
For some reason, he always felt a bit sleepy after eating. Whatever, he wouldn't overthink it; he closed his eyes and drifted off into a wonderful sleep.
Days passed by, one after another.
Train, eat, sleep, then train again.
The starry sky outside remained brilliant. Sometimes he would sit by the window and watch the stars for a while, colorful and magnificent, marveling at the endless vastness of the universe and its galaxies.
But these thoughts never lingered for long; he would soon return to the Gravity Chamber to work himself to exhaustion.
He had counted, and there were only eight Senzu Beans left.
One day—
Beep, beep-beep.
A notification sounded inside the cabin, followed by a cold, mechanical voice.
"Approaching destination: Planet Namek. Estimated landing time: thirty minutes. Please cease all activities, fasten your seatbelts, and prepare for landing."
Son Gohan was doing push-ups when he heard this, and he snapped his head up.
"We're here! After all these days, we've finally arrived."
Son Gohan immediately flipped to his feet, reached out to shut down the gravity system, and let his Super Saiyan state revert to his base form, suppressing his aura.
He looked out the window at the green planet growing larger by the second, unable to contain his excitement.
He had finally arrived.
His food was almost gone and he only had eight Senzu Beans left; if he had flown for a few more days, he wouldn't have had enough to eat, and he was still in the middle of a growth spurt.
Son Gohan walked to the cockpit to prepare for the landing.
Outside the starry window, Planet Namek was slowly expanding before his eyes.
