The Hero Appears (Continued)

It tried to move the claws on its right hand, but failed. It could not control them at all.

No, it could not even feel the existence of its right hand.

"Crack—"

Its right hand separated from its upper arm at the elbow.

Then, under the pull of gravity, the demon's hand that had been gripping Evileye slowly fell and struck the ground.

The cut was smooth as a mirror. Both the blue muscle fibers and the pitch-black bones had been cleanly severed in a single stroke.

Evileye fell to the ground, and then a burly figure descended from the sky.

"Momon... sir?"

"Sorry, I was late."

Momon landed on the ground, the azure greatsword he had thrown moments ago beside him.

He had hurled the greatsword from high above, severing the demon's arm.

The blade gleamed with a chilling light, not a single drop of blood staining it.

"Momon... sir..."

Evileye's lips curved faintly upward. She had waited until the very last moment, and that man had finally appeared before her.

With Momon standing in front of her, it was as if a taut string in her heart had suddenly snapped. At ease, she closed her eyes.

Momon bent down and gathered Evileye into his arms.

This time, he carried her like a princess. Unfortunately, Evileye had already passed out. Though even if she had been awake, she probably would have fainted happily.

Momon turned around with Evileye in his arms, fully exposing his back to the demon, yet he did not care in the slightest.

"So, she's a vampire," Momon murmured.

Without a complete Stone Mask, Momon easily recognized the traces of an undead being on Evileye.

"Teleport—"

A flash of blue light passed, and Evileye vanished instantly.

Before the battle, he had to send her somewhere safe.
