Background / History

Aya was a YGGDRASIL player whose first character was an elven ranger. She became known for an unconventional strength-focused ranger build, combining a greatbow with a one-handed sword; the style remained influential through four major game versions. Her later avatar was Aya, the Mother Goddess of Life. 5 97

After arriving in the New World in Aya’s form, she aided Est Village by resolving the werewolf crisis, healing its wounded, and offering oxen and farming magic in return for a share of the harvest. When the villagers requested a proper name, she adopted “Aya” and later chose “Valoria” as a surname inspired by a familiar name from a dream. 27

Aya established herself as an adventurer while using alternate appearances, including the male identity “Ling.” Her practical approach to adventurer work included delegating quests and arranging for subordinates to prepare proof of completed monster hunts, allowing her to avoid constant Guild visits and unwanted attention. 173 235

Her real-world identity is Shiraoin Kaguya, eldest daughter of the White Cherry Blossom Academy Family. She later reveals to Ainz that she is her brother’s chief advisor and a member of the family’s decision-making council, with voting power second only to his. 793 794

During a later period in which she appears in her original body rather than her game avatar, Kaguya identifies herself to Aisha as both “Shiraoin Kaguya” and “Aya Tiamat.” She is surprised by her own appearance and eventually sends Aisha back through time to become the foundation of her resurrection. 708 710

Appearance

Aya’s Mother Goddess of Life avatar has long pale- or teal-blue hair, an exquisite face balancing demonic allure with innocent charm, elegant curved horns, and a slender dragon tail. Her charm-enhancing racial traits and equipment make her appearance unusually affecting to others. 2 54

  • Long teal-blue hair reaching her hips in her Mother Goddess form. 792
  • Two pairs of long, spiraling horns in her restored divine form. 792
  • Can use appearance equipment to alter her height, face, build, and apparent gender. 34 66
  • Her high-charm formal appearance has shoulder-length hair, concealed horns, a silver-white crown, blue-violet eyes, black gloves, and an ornate dress. 54
  • Her real-world body is that of a frail, white-haired young girl whose illness hindered her physical development. 774 782

Personality

Aya’s race gives her a powerful maternal instinct: she feels love toward her children and a desire to embrace living things. Her own sense of self, however, remains that of the original Aya rather than any one racial component. 5 79

She is compassionate toward vulnerable people, healing Maria’s eye injury and allowing the unstable nun to believe she is Tiamat rather than worsening her condition. Aya also avoids needless killing when possible, even when she possesses the ability to eliminate threats decisively. 26 179 216

In daily life, Aya is openly lazy, enjoys resting and being cared for by her daughters, and lacks basic domestic skills such as cooking or independently tying unfamiliar clothing. She does not try especially hard to hide these flaws. 66 605 779

As a leader, Aya is observant, pragmatic, and willing to teach others how power works. She prefers peaceful solutions, but if they fail, she is prepared to use intimidation, force, or destruction without hesitation. 507 788 794

Abilities & Skills

Life-Based Summoning

Aya’s primary specialization is the life branch of summoning. Her race gives her exceptional compatibility with living summons, and she invested extensive resources into developing this path in YGGDRASIL. 28

  • Can summon a broad range of living beings and strengthen them with extensive buffs. 28 29
  • Created wooden golems for construction work in Est Village. 28
  • Can deploy powerful summons in large-scale battles; her Mother Goddess of Life build is especially dominant in legion warfare. 226
  • Has explored mechanical and elemental summoning branches for situations where life summons are disadvantaged. 28
  • Cannot effectively summon undead due to severe racial incompatibility. 28 484

Healing and Resurrection

Aya possesses high-level healing and restoration magic.

  • Used [Crystallized Healing] to restore Maria’s injured eye. 26
  • Fully restored Artoria’s body after her fatal injuries, then resurrected her under the terms of their wager. 237
  • Can offer resurrection even to people outside her immediate circle, though she sets conditions for such intervention. 586 587

Temple of Life

The Temple of Life is Aya’s special extradimensional domain and the birthplace of Preya and her sisters. 202

  • Casts [Reverse Summoning: Temple of Life] to teleport herself and others into the domain. 202 235
  • Uses a ring made from leftover material of the world-class item [Primordial Fetal Movement] to activate the spell. 202
  • The Temple stands on a floating island founded on the world-class item [Spatial Entity]. 790
  • Can potentially be severed from the world and used to exile an enemy into endless void space. 790

Analysis and Investigation Magic

Aya uses specialized magic to gather intelligence and assess physical conditions.

  • [Retrospective Search] reveals information about an object’s past, though older information becomes blurrier and the spell is easy to counter. 152
  • Uses [Human Body Analysis] to understand anatomy and treat physical strain, such as Opeiran’s foot pain. 325
  • Has excellent facial memory and generally remembers anyone she has met face-to-face. 335 766

Charm and Mental Domination

Aya possesses extensive charm effects from both race and equipment, often without fully realizing their strength. 54

  • Her appearance can provoke intense attraction and trust in strangers. 54 58
  • Used [Mind Control], [All-Race Charm], [Succubus’s Tears], and [Forced Manipulation] against an enemy knight. 226
  • Can enter dreams through a succubus ability, as when she observed Opeiran’s concerns for her daughter. 79

Mana Replenishment

As her divine power adapts, Aya can restore another person’s mana even when she cannot safely direct her own nearly limitless reserves into conventional spellcasting. 762

  • Replenished Aisha’s depleted mana during high-speed travel. 762
  • Mana transfer requires Aya’s consent and an exchange of bodily fluids. 762
  • The process can greatly improve the recipient’s mana quality and quantity. 762

Ranger Combat

Aya’s earlier YGGDRASIL ranger build emphasized overwhelming physical force rather than conventional agility. 97

  • Uses a greatbow for devastating ranged attacks and a one-handed sword in close combat. 97
  • Her mythical bow, One Stroke, Two Halves, can bisect an enemy with a single shot. 97
  • Her violent ranger style became a long-lasting gameplay trend. 97

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • One Stroke, Two Halves — Mythical bow capable of cutting enemies in half with one shot. 97

  • Ainz Ooal Gown / Momonga / Satoru Suzuki — Former YGGDRASIL companion. Aya’s reunion with Ainz leads to discussions of their changed reality, her real-world identity, and the responsibilities of rulership. 465 784 794
