"Had some kind of spell inscribed on him... It looked like getting information out of him was impossible," Aya thought. "He might even self-destruct the moment he is captured."

"What a hassle. Then we'll just kill him," Aya said, aiming her bow at the Shadow Servant's heart.

"W-Wait!" the Shadow Servant suddenly spoke.

"Is there anything else you want to say?"

"D-Don't... don't kill me..." the Shadow Servant pleaded.

"A reason," Ling said. "Give me a reason not to kill you."

"Because..." Suddenly, he broke into a savage grin. "Put down the bow... or I'll kill her!"

A black humanoid figure emerged from Lakyus's shadow, gripping a dagger as it stood behind her.

It was a Shadow Hassan wearing a white skull mask. He had concealed his presence so completely that Lakyus had not noticed him at all!

The dagger in Shadow Hassan's hand was coated in a lethal poison, deadly enough to kill an ordinary person at the slightest touch of blood. And from that position, Shadow Hassan could easily stab straight through Lakyus's heart!

"Put down the bow! I said... put down the bow..."

The Shadow Servant roared, but his voice grew less and less confident.

Because Ling still stared at him coldly. She did not lower her longbow, and her expression did not change in the slightest.
