Underground ice lakes existed on Mars. They had already been discovered by Decepticon survey teams, and there was more than one.

Although they had yet to find any signs that civilization had once arisen on this planet, the Decepticon exploration team had confirmed that Mars had nurtured life in ancient times.

However, discovering a likely underground ice lake at the site suspected to be Emperor Maximo's Laboratory was definitely not good news.

Although Cybertronians possessed greater survival capabilities than carbon-based lifeforms in extreme environments, that did not mean they would remain unaffected.

At the very least, Sun Cheng was not confident he could endure for long in an extreme environment below minus one hundred degrees Celsius.

So he worried that the former elder of Cybertronian civilization might use this ice lake, whose conditions were still unknown, to conceal something dangerous.
