"Did you take notes?" Nakayama Takuya asked.
"I took them!" Ueda nodded hard.
"Good." Nakayama Takuya glanced at his watch.
The inspection was pretty much over.
The two walked toward the amusement park exit.
"The merger and liquidation of Sega and Bandai have completely gone through the process," Nakayama Takuya instructed as they walked. "You go find the Marketing Department to coordinate and do a field survey. See if we can lease a large storefront right next to Joypolis, or in an eye-catching spot on the first floor of the mall."
"Open a Bandai toy specialty store?"
"Open a flagship store," Nakayama Takuya corrected. "Gundam plastic models, Kamen Rider transformation belts, Digimon merchandise-stuff it all in. The storefront sign needs to be grand enough, and we'll place a one-to-tenth scale RX-78-2 Gundam statue at the entrance. Completely connect the customer traffic of Joypolis and the flagship store. When they finish playing games and come out, they can casually buy a model and take it home. This is called an industrial closed loop."
Ueda flipped his notebook to a new page and heavily circled the three characters for "flagship store".
They walked to the entrance of the employee passageway.
Nakayama Takuya stopped in his steps and turned around.
"Organize everything we talked about today, including your own ideas, into a detailed planning report. Submit it to your superior department, and CC a copy to my office."
Nakayama Takuya patted Ueda on the shoulder.
"Ueda, you work on the front lines, and every day you come into contact with real customers. What they like, what they hate, and what trivial things affect their moods-you are much clearer on these than those people sitting in the headquarters building blowing the air conditioning."
