Takahashi Masaya's gaze was instantly locked onto those familiar words on the cover. His fingers unconsciously clenched the fabric of his trousers atop his knees, and his breathing grew heavier.
But he still held himself back from reaching out.
"What use is this? So what if the anime gets made? Wouldn't the models still have to be handed over to Bandai? Why should I make a wedding dress for the people who once shit on my head?" Takahashi Masaya sneered through gritted teeth.
"Bandai may have merged with Sega in name, but in terms of actual management authority, Sega is the absolute master." Hattori Kiyoshi pressed his finger heavily against the proposal, his gaze sharpening. "Mr. Takahashi, your information is outdated. Bandai's upper management has undergone a massive purge. Those old bastards who used to bang tables with you, snatch copyrights, and throw their weight around have been turned inside out by the audit team as of last week. Some of them have already been invited to have tea at the Metropolitan Police Department, suspected of embezzlement and commercial fraud. They will probably never get the chance to stir up trouble again for the rest of their lives."
Takahashi Masaya jerked his head up, his eyes widening in utter disbelief, followed by a surge of wild delight and secret satisfaction.
"Bandai's current president, Yamashina Makoto, is now fully cooperating with Sega's internal audit like an obedient subordinate. Next month, Bandai will completely lose its right to operate independently. It will be stripped of all planning capabilities and turned into a wholly owned manufacturing division under Sega. Sega will have the final say over all model toy development and sales." Hattori Kiyoshi pushed the proposal forward again, his tone carrying the composure and dominance of one in a position of power.
