Hoshino walked over to the control console and turned on the wall-mounted television.
The screen was broadcasting Bloomberg financial news.
Several well-known Wall Street hedge fund managers sat before the camera in tailored suits.
"South Korea's economy is a giant scam," the fund manager on television discoursed smoothly into the camera. "Their chaebols carry debt-to-equity ratios as high as four hundred percent or even higher. The Bank of Korea's foreign exchange reserves are simply insufficient to pay off the short-term debt maturing next month. We advise all investors to withdraw from the Korean market immediately, without staying a single second longer."
The screen cut to another analyst.
"The Korean Won is severely overvalued. Their financial system is riddled with holes and has no rescue value. Default is merely a matter of time."
"They're fanatically fanning the flames in the media," Hoshino turned up the volume. "Unscrupulously manufacturing panic. The Quantum Fund under Soros's command has already started frantically selling off the Korean Won over-the-counter. They're taking the lead in crashing the market, and foreign capital is dumping the Won and Korean stocks regardless of cost."
Nakayama Takuya watched the television screen.
