He wore a sharply tailored dark blue suit, raising his wrist every so often to check his watch.
A black business van pulled up to the entrance.
The door slid open, and Nakayama Takuya stepped out first, followed closely by Sato Hideki, Yuji Naka, and Mark Cerny.
The four of them had just driven in from NVIDIA's headquarters in San Jose.
Kalinske strode forward to greet them.
"President Nakayama." Kalinske extended his right hand, firmly grasping Nakayama Takuya's hand. "Congratulations. I've waited two years to use that title. It's finally official."
"Spare the pleasantries." Nakayama Takuya released his hand and walked straight toward the lobby. "This year's North American financial report cannot be worse than last year's. Sony is cooking up something massive over there—Nobuyuki Idei just approved an unlimited budget for Ken Kutaragi."
"They have a massive move; we have a nuke." Kalinske walked alongside him, reaching out to press the elevator's up button. "North American distributors have more confidence in Sega right now than ever before."
The fifth-floor core conference room.
Mark opened the projector and distributed a newly compiled network data analysis report to everyone.
"The graphical computing power of the NV10 is locked down, and next is the network." Nakayama Takuya pulled out the chair at the head of the table, sat down, and opened the report. "The isolated island era of standalone gaming is coming to an end. The next-generation console must connect all players. That's a hard metric."
Mark removed the lens cap of the projector, revealing a line chart on the screen.
