Dumbledore knew Vaughn was right. If they did not clear Creevey of any involvement in this affair, he might well be branded Voldemort's accomplice afterward.
That would be far too cruel for an innocent child. The Hogwarts Board of Governors would expel him, and he might even be stripped of his status as a wizard.
Still, this also brought Dumbledore some relief. Perhaps he could explain Creevey's predicament to Minerva. Given her nature, she would certainly be willing to help the poor boy.
Dumbledore did not rush to leave, however. Creevey had been missing for an entire day, and some professor had probably noticed by now, but a few more minutes would make little difference.
He looked straight into Vaughn's eyes and asked solemnly, "What exactly did you see in Severus's memories?"
"Where is Voldemort-or rather, the Death Eaters-planning to cause trouble?"

Sirius said angrily, "They're a bunch of lunatics!"
"They're trying to spark another goblin rebellion!"
Vaughn shook his head with a smile. "They won't. Goblins aren't easy to deal with, unless Voldemort takes action himself. And we all know he won't do that."
"I had Bill pass a warning up through Egyptian Gringotts. Whether the goblins believe it isn't important."
