Pandora's eyes shone as she watched Vaughn wipe out several hundred wizards with a single spell.
What surprised her even more was that this magic, which she had never heard of or seen before, clearly made no distinction between friend and foe. Like Fiendfyre, once successfully cast, even the caster himself could not control it.
Yet just now, she had personally experienced Vaughn passing through that strange spherical surface to reach her, shielding her from the spell's effects.
With her senses enhanced by the Super-Sensory Charm, she could vaguely sense that the hand Vaughn had raised had created the same force as that large-scale spell, and the two had canceled each other out.
But what was the principle behind it? Why could they neutralize one another?
Had Vaughn used the same theory when developing them?
Could that... be the new direction in spell development she had been seeking?
Faced with Pandora's intense thirst for knowledge, Vaughn returned to his original position and dispelled the magic with a slight smile. "This is a spell I recently developed—the Infrasound Charm. It creates and controls infrasonic waves. As for why I wasn't affected... that's nothing difficult. Among Muggles, this method is called active noise cancellation. The principle is to use opposite sound waveforms to cancel each other out."

Pandora had no concept of them. Invisible sound was probably one of the objective phenomena wizards valued least.
