Tap, tap, tap.
The sky was dim. On the chaotic street, Coulson, Natasha, and Yan Shuangying were running forward with all their might.
Traffic packed the road, and it was full of panicked crowds. Some vendors hurriedly gathered up their things, trying to rush home.
Whoosh!
A mummy swung a flash of blade-light, forcing a vendor back, then leaped over a cart piled high with fruit.
"Ah—! My child!!"
Someone screamed in terror. A child stood frozen in front of the mummy, utterly at a loss. The charging mummy showed no mercy. Its gums and jaw snapped open and shut violently as it raised its cold blade.
"No!!"
"Sigh."
Some passersby closed their eyes, unable to bear watching, silently lamenting the child's fate.
The next second.
Bang!
A bullet came flying in and struck the mummy's frontal bone, piercing through it with perfect precision.
The raised blade fell weakly to the ground, and the mummy dropped to its knees before the child with a thud.
The child's mother hurriedly carried the child away, looking gratefully toward the person who had saved them.
Click.
Holding guns in both hands, Yan Shuangying suddenly turned around.
"What are you doing? Hurry up and go!"
Coulson had run a few steps before realizing Yan Shuangying had not followed. He shouted in panic.
"You go first. Leave this to me!"
Calmly watching more than a dozen mummies knock over the crowd, step across cars, and close in viciously with blades in hand, Yan Shuangying held both guns, his eyes utterly indifferent.
These damned mummies had irritated him a little.
What they needed now was not a fight, but to investigate as much as possible and find that bald man's weakness. He cared so much about this book; for all they knew, his secret was recorded
