Purple Man: Fuck. This Isn't Scientific!!

"The Punisher. I think I've heard that name before."

Pressing a finger to her temple, Chun-Li looked thoughtful.

On the way to Hell's Kitchen, after casually dealing with a few sleazy punks, she had heard that name from them.

"That's right. Though I don't agree with some of his methods."

Matt shook his head with a bitter smile and took another large gulp of alcohol.

Clearly, something unpleasant had happened between the two of them.

Seeing that he had stopped talking, Chun-Li did not disturb him. Instead, she turned her gaze toward a corner in the northwest of the bar.

Some sort of conflict seemed to have broken out there.

A woman in a black top held a beer bottle as she argued with several men.

The woman looked drunk, swaying even as she stood, yet she showed no fear whatsoever while facing nine grown men alone.

The situation quickly escalated. One of the men raised his fist and, cursing loudly, swung it at her cheek.

The woman opposite him had long black hair and wore blue jeans. Her drunken steps were unsteady, yet she dodged his attack in an instant before lightly pushing out with one palm.

The movement looked far too gentle, and several of the man's companions could not help laughing like pigs.

But the result left everyone dumbfounded. A burly man weighing over three hundred pounds was sent flying with that light push like a garbage bag, crashing through several tables before foaming at the mouth and passing out.

Seeing their companion's miserable state, the others found it unbelievable, but drunk as they were, they naturally refused to back down. Rolling up their sleeves, they grabbed bottles and chairs, shouting as they charged in.

Yet the outcome was once again unexpected.

Any attack that landed on the woman seemed harmless to her. On the other hand, with a casual wave of her hand, those men went flying like bowling pins.

A security guard stepped forward, seemingly intending to throw her out, only for her to lightly grab him by the collar and toss him across the room into the wall.

The commotion kept growing, and Matt finally came back to his senses.

He quickly rose to his feet, drew his batons, and leaped over to the woman, intending to stop her from continuing this nonsense.

But the woman clearly would not listen. Before long, she and Matt had begun fighting.

The moment they exchanged blows, Matt fell into a disadvantage.

His attacks were harmless when they landed on the woman, while her strength vibrated through his batons and kept tearing at the webbing between his thumb and forefinger.

On top of that, the music and noisy environment in the bar severely interfered with his radar senses, dulling his fighting skills and slowing his reactions.

Seeing Matt at a disadvantage, Chun-Li simply lifted her leg and joined the fight.

The three fought fiercely, moving all over the place. Under the bar owner's tearful gaze, they were like a demolition crew—destroying everything wherever they went.

"Bitch, eat my fist!"

"Kikoken Palm--!"

Bang!

Fist and palm collided, neither gaining the upper hand. Using the recoil, Chun-Li pulled Matt back and leaped away.

"That woman's physical abilities are incredibly strong. It seems like she hasn't even used her full strength yet."

Looking at the woman's far-from-muscular build, Chun-Li was secretly shocked.

"Where did these two come from? Especially that blue-clad woman with the bun hairstyle. What was that? Eastern martial arts?"

At the same time, the woman also realized how troublesome the other two were.

The two sides stopped fighting and watched each other warily, both astonished by the other's strength.

Suddenly, the three seemed to realize something and turned toward the bar entrance.

There, at some point, a man in a purple suit stood in the doorway, smiling at everyone.

Only then did they realize that the once-noisy bar had become exceptionally quiet. Even the music had somehow been turned off.

The crowd that had been watching was no longer chattering either. Instead, they stood there silently like scarecrows.

Chun-Li and Matt exchanged a glance, both sensing a certain danger.

But on the other side—

"Zebediah Kilgrave!!"

The woman suddenly shouted furiously.

"Oh, so it's you, my lovely Jessica~"

His real name was Zebediah Kilgrave, and his codename was Purple Man.

He was Jessica's nightmare, and also her abyss.

After using his powers to control Jessica, Purple Man had used her to attack several police officers and imprisoned her, inflicting both physical and psychological trauma upon her.

"Ugh—"

The black nightmare had been awakened once more. Jessica Jones trembled all over, clutched her head, screamed, and charged at him with her fist raised.

But she had only made it halfway before abruptly stopping.

The light vanished from her eyes. She stood there blankly, silent as a statue.

Chun-Li and Matt were both startled, immediately assuming defensive stances.

"Hypnosis, or some kind of ability?"

Matt's thoughts raced.

But Purple Man clearly gave him no time to think.

He merely revealed a cruel smile before ordering Jessica to deal with them.

"Kill them."

Jessica obeyed with unnatural compliance, charging forward expressionlessly.

Matt tried to rouse her mind, but it was useless. He could only passively fend her off while trying to get Chun-Li to leave.

"Naive."

Seeing Chun-Li smash through the window and escape, Purple Man hurriedly activated his superpower.

His body emitted pheromones. Once a target's skin absorbed them, he could control them through words, producing an immensely powerful hypnotic effect.

And in battle, losing focus was fatal.

Although Matt's fearless will held back the pressure of the hypnosis, under the interference, there was no way he could dodge Jessica's incoming punch.

Watching that fist roar through the air toward Daredevil, Purple Man wore a perverse grin, thrusting his hips as though he were so pleased he might start clapping.

"Wonderful, Jessica~"

"Kikoken Palm!!"

Bang—!

A blue figure suddenly burst in, knocking Matt aside and colliding heavily with Jessica.

Fist and palm met, erupting with a blast of air.

The wooden floor groaned and caved in beneath them.

Leaning forward, she stepped out with her left foot in a circular motion. As her waist twisted, she pulled a talisman from her side and slapped it onto Jessica.

[Calming Talisman]

The talisman from a cultivation world activated the instant it was attached.

The talisman flared with green light, clearing Jessica's negative mental state in a single breath.

As if someone had dumped a bucket of ice water over her in the sweltering summer heat, Jessica shuddered all over and fully awakened.

At the same time, Chun-Li did not stop. Lowering herself like a leopard, she charged at Purple Man at incredible speed.

"Know your place!"

With a mocking laugh, Purple Man repeatedly activated his superpower against Chun-Li.

Bzz~

The talisman on her body flashed green again and again. As Purple Man wore an expression of utter disbelief, a jab shot up from below and smashed viciously into his face.

Smack!!

Purple Man was down for the count.

At the instant Purple Man fell, the bystanders in the bar also collapsed one after another.

After checking everyone and seeing that they had merely fainted, Matt let out a sigh of relief and walked over to Chun-Li.

"What was that yellow paper you used just now?"

"That was a talisman, a product of the Immortal Sect."

Brother Purple, thank you for your hard work in this performance. May you rest in peace.
