"Cough, cough, cough... How long was I unconscious?"

Every limb and bone felt weak, every cell exhausted beyond measure. Green struggled to sit up, only to collapse again from lack of strength. A quick-eyed first-level female wizard with golden wavy hair caught him and helped him up.

Green's tricolored eyes glanced at the female wizard. She had some beauty to her, but her eyes were filled with grief, and she did not dare meet his gaze.

"Caw caw caw, my Green Beast, I knew you wouldn't die! You've been unconscious for seventeen days now. In another hourglass, it'll be eighteen days. Want to sleep a little longer and make it a nice round number?"

Little Eight hopped about on Green's shoulder as he spoke.

More than ten days...?

Supported by the female wizard, Green leaned against the stone wall and looked around. Only a single magic lamp hung from the cave ceiling, casting dim, wavering shadows. Around a dozen wizards sat against the cave walls with their heads lowered in utter silence. The atmosphere was so oppressive it was terrifying, saturated with an air of despair.

"Where is this?"

Green asked the female wizard beside him. Though she was despairing, there was still a glimmer of hope in her. The Face of Truth had already clearly sensed a new life growing within her. Green had more or less guessed what had happened to her before.

For the child in her womb, she would not give up. Such was the power of maternal love.

"Annihilation Tower Sacred Mark Wizard, we are currently in a world fragment connected to the Netherfire World."

The female wizard paused, stroked her belly, and cautiously asked Green, "Master, do we... do we still have hope of leaving here alive?"

By the end, she was sobbing softly.
