The old man seemed somewhat hard of hearing, so his voice was booming, almost a shout.

After crossing heaps upon heaps of rubble, he gazed at the surging floodwaters. According to the rules set by this illusory spacetime, it had been the mountain flood a few days ago that had triggered the rockslide—a perfectly natural chain of cause and effect.
Green pressed on regardless!
The Fate Light protecting him had forcibly summoned him into this spacetime. Therefore, one thing was certain: he absolutely would not die.
