A Wizard's Journey was written willfully, recording only what was in Bai Lu's heart and mind, with no thought for anything else. Perhaps the stride had been too great; as a new author, Bai Lu had presumptuously hoped to reach the heavens in a single step. As the story drew closer to its central theme in the later stages, it became harder and harder to let go of the ending, making it exceedingly difficult to control. Writing also became ever more laborious and joyless, and the update volume disappointed readers. Yet their repeated concern and encouragement only made Bai Lu feel even more ashamed.
However, for Qidian Chinese Network under China Literature Group to grant me such an honor, Bai Lu knew, was the result of Qing Mang, Dan Qing, and chief editor Wu Dao of the fantasy team—those who appreciated Bai Lu most—fighting for it with all their strength.
