To run for Wizard King, the first thing one needed was prestige.

By the Wizard World's current standards, so-called prestige meant securing the support of no fewer than one billion official Wizards, three thousand Stigmata Wizards, and four True Spirit Wizards. Not one of these three requirements could be absent.

Lower-ranking official Wizards knew relatively little about True Spirit Wizards. Though the requirement was one billion, compared to the current total number of official Wizards, it was not much at all. This was also the easiest prestige requirement to fulfill, a benefit granted by high-ranking Wizards to popularize participation among lower-ranking Wizards.

As for the requirement of three thousand Stigmata Wizard votes, that was considerably more difficult.

Although after Green's Wizard Ancestor Rules, Wizards from all factions of the Wizard World had undergone great integration, greatly reducing the competition and exclusion once seen between Wizards of different factions, that applied only to the lower ranks. Considerable remnants of factional consciousness still remained among Stigmata Wizards. Moreover, Stigmata Wizards understood True Spirit Wizards far better than lower-ranking official Wizards did, and they were not short on resources. They would not waste their subjective votes over such trifling gains. Finally, obtaining the votes of at least four True Spirit Wizards to run for Wizard King was undoubtedly the most difficult requirement.
