"Wow, so beautiful."
After entering the cave, they found the pale-blue plants inside thoroughly frozen over. Their leaves resembled palm prints, caught in poses of struggle. Pale-yellow halos flickered within each flower bud. Even in the frozen environment Milly loved most, they still instinctively glimmered, as if deliberately luring outsiders deeper into the cave to explore.
"Beauty is always hidden beneath danger. With my current third-level wizard elemental strength, this plant still hasn't completely fallen dormant. That is rather peculiar."
As he spoke, Green extended his palm and lightly tapped an ice flower with the tip of his index finger.
With a crisp ding, sound waves rippled out. The ice flower shattered with a clattering crash, yet under Green's perfect control of elemental energy, only the bud his fingertip had touched was thawed.
Hiss!
The flower bud, breathtaking beneath its icy seal only moments ago, suddenly burst open after being thawed, its petals blooming wide like a chrysanthemum. Yet beneath the pale-red outer layers was a vivid, fatty crimson, and then, from the heart of the stamen, a clump of stinking socks emerged, releasing a murky gray stench.
Green's elemental energy shield flashed, shutting out the strange fumes.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh...
Black beetles with astonishing leaping power shot out like bullets and slammed into the energy shield. Each impact dented the shield inward in an arc, showing just how powerful their jumps were.
Only after the black insects were stopped by the shield did Green, standing within it, get a clear look at them.
They appeared to be crude metal beetles imbued with some mysterious power. Aside from a pair of enormous blood-red mandibles constantly opening and closing, they had only one eye. Within that eye, the eyeball was made up of countless commas, swaying like densely
