Four rat soldiers carried a stretcher toward the Empress's Hall.

The stretcher was a crude contraption of vines lashed to wood. It creaked and swayed as it passed through the protection of many elite rat soldiers and arrived at the Empress's Hall.

Of the four rat soldiers, two were Green and Milly in disguise.

Though the bat had been starved for so long that it was little more than skin and bones, it was still no lightweight. Milly and Green had it easy in their disguises, but the other two rat soldiers were truly exhausted, staggering as they walked. The elite rat ahead stopped. A rat of even loftier standing approached step by step, leaning on a cane. He ignored Green and the others, looking only at the giant bat on the stretcher. After slowly circling it twice, he nodded. "The being Her Majesty wishes to communicate with today comes from an exceedingly powerful world. It requested an unknown parasite. This one should meet the radiation standards. Send it in quickly."

His voice was somewhat dry as he issued the order to the elite rat before Green and the others.

"Yes, Second Elder."

The elite rat then signaled for Green and the others to continue onward.
