Zhao Qianjun's mouth twitched as he asked, "May I ask why Consecrated Jiang is here killing Star Demons in the dead of night?"
Jiang Changkong said blandly, "I was bored, so I came out to lighten Jiangcheng's burden. And while I was at it, I gathered some Star Stones to give back to the school."
"So that's how it is. Why not come sit in my tent? We can discuss how to kill more Star Demons together," Zhao Qianjun said with a smile.
"No need. My method kills plenty enough," Jiang Changkong said.
Zhao Qianjun frowned slightly. "My apologies for what happened earlier. We simply didn't know. The Star Demons rioted and injured the soldiers.
Consecrated Chu didn't know you either. He acted in a moment of anger."
"My apologies as well. I didn't know Commander Zhao would be here," Jiang Changkong said apologetically. "I truly am deeply sorry for implicating you.
I will continue tomorrow during the day. Please make preparations, Commander Zhao."
"No one is at fault for what they didn't know. We also never expected Consecrated Jiang to be here," Zhao Qianjun said with a smile.
"Since everything has been made clear, I'll stop here and take my leave."
Jiang Changkong cupped his hands, bid them farewell, and vanished after a few swift leaps.
As they watched Jiang Changkong depart, both men's expressions turned extremely grim.
"Taiji Fist. A fine technique. That one palm of mine failed to kill him and merely made him cough up blood," Consecrated Chu said coldly.
"Jiang Changkong's strength lies in his defense. He's like a turtle. With Taiji Fist and the Iron Cloth Shirt, even Star Demons of the same rank can't break through his defenses."
Zhao Qianjun looked displeased. "I just never expected that brat's phone to be an alarm."
