Under Luo Yunji's Water Technique, the two of them submerged into the lake.
"Is this really a lake?" Not long after entering the water, Luo Yunji was once again stunned by the sight before him, his eyes gleaming with curiosity.
"Could this have once been a village that was flooded and submerged?" Looking at the rows of buildings immersed in the lake, Zhang Xiaofan felt a chill creep over him.
From above, the lake had looked golden-red beneath the setting sun, but everything underwater was green, making one's whole body go cold and instinctively recoil from the place.
"If a flood had come, wouldn't it have washed these houses away? But they're all still intact. Even the household utensils inside are neatly arranged." Luo Yunji shook his head, rejecting Zhang Xiaofan's guess.
Zhang Xiaofan nodded.
"Why aren't there any fish?" Little Fatty curiously looked around, never slowing his steps as he headed toward the buildings ahead.
Only then did Zhang Xiaofan notice that the lake was utterly lifeless—not even a single strand of aquatic weed could be seen.
"Why don't we go back for now and come again after asking our senior brothers?" Zhang Xiaofan felt uneasy. The silence here was eerie.
"No! I want to look inside the houses up ahead!" Little Fatty said, then sped up.
Feeling helpless, Zhang Xiaofan became even more cautious, on guard against any unexpected danger.
While Zhang Xiaofan proceeded with utmost care, Luo Yunji wandered around boldly, barging into one place after another.
Everything inside the houses was intact. Aside from the traces left by the lake water, even the tables, chairs, pots, and bowls were all there. Apart from the people, the whole town had everything.
Everything except living creatures!
The two of them came to a building off to one side.
