The Underworld was a buffer zone where the Ghost Realm and Demon Realm met, gathering the sinister energies of the Nine Realms. It was a realm unto itself, with its own unique qualities.
It had not been swallowed by the Demon Realm. Instead, drawing on the gathered sinister energies, it had kept the Demon Realm's demonic energy from spreading into the Ghost Realm. Not only had this preserved the Ghost Realm from the Demon Realm's corruption, it had protected the other realms as well.
The Underworld's sinister energy was a unique force formed when the Ghost Realm's utmost yin energy converged with the evils of the other realms. It could block demonic energy, yet shared its contagious nature. But the Ghost Realm itself held back the Underworld's energy, so the three realms had never been plunged into danger.
The Giant Chi had planned to leave at once, but to its horror, it discovered that those wisps of smoke were gathering on its back.
"Just as I thought! You have the aura of Yellow Springs on you!" The Giant Chi hurriedly twisted around and rose from the water, dodging the black smoke.
Even a touch of that smoke would cause it no end of trouble.
No matter how quickly the Giant Chi reacted, the black wisps above the water kept hot on their heels.
"Think of something quickly! Otherwise, I'll have to throw you overboard! If not, your senior brothers will all be tainted by the Underworld's energy and become neither human nor ghost! Then they'll be doomed!" Long Zi yelled at Luo Yunji in frustration.
"Get my senior brothers out of here first!" Seeing the huge cloud of black smoke gathering behind him, Luo Yunji clutched his Taiji Bead and leapt down.
"Yunji!" Seeing this, He Dazhi was about to
