"How long have we been trapped in an illusion?" the Ghost King asked, his brows knitted tight as he watched Luo Yunji happily eating.
"A long time!" Luo Yunji gulped down the food in his mouth. "I've almost eaten all the food!"
He Dazhi and Tian Buyi hurried over to the Bamboo Bag. Seeing that it was more than half empty, they were so astonished their minds couldn't keep up.
He Dazhi kept knocking on his head. He couldn't make sense of anything anymore.
"When exactly did we fall into the illusion?" He Dazhi asked Luo Yunji, bewildered.
"After we came out of the Ice Cave and went down to the foot of the mountain, you all fell into the illusion! We couldn't wake you no matter how much we called!" Luo Yunji swept his gaze over them, looking as if he thought they were all useless.
"We were trapped in the illusion from the very beginning!" The Ghost King couldn't accept that answer at all.
"Grrr!" A dull rumble sounded, and everyone turned to look at Tian Buyi.
Tian Buyi awkwardly rubbed his stomach. "I'm hungry!"
Only then did everyone begin to believe Luo Yunji, at least a little.
"From the very beginning!" No matter how unable they were to accept the answer, the facts were right before them. They had no choice.
Afraid they might fall into another illusion, Tian Buyi and the others endured their hunger and ran out of the dim surroundings, stopping only when they reached the foot of the mountain.
Everyone sat in a circle, eating the food Zhang Xiaofan passed around. No one spoke. They all ate in silence.
Once Luo Yunji had eaten his fill, he went to sleep.
After they finished eating, everyone sat in a daze for a long while.
