Luo Yunji learned he would leave for the perilous Demon-Suppression Cave in the Southern Border, while Tian Buyi realized his strange dream had been a real encounter with the Deity and decided to join the journey. After Zhang Xiaofan punished the Food Mansion innkeeper and his family for their misconduct, the group prepared to travel to the Southern Border.

• White-Clothed Deity reassured Luo Yunji about the dangers of the Ancient Demon-Suppression Cave and ordered him to leave the next day.
• Tian Buyi appeared in Luo Yunji's Sea of Consciousness, mistook the encounter for a dream, and tried to beat him before White-Clothed Deity sent him away.

• Little Gray mocked Zhang Xiaofan for choking on its wine, while Tian Buyi scolded Luo Yunji for nearly drinking and ordered Zhang Xiaofan to watch him.
• Tumagu arrived and invited Luo Yunji, Zhang Xiaofan, and Tian Buyi to the Altar because the Great Shaman wanted to see his benefactor again.

• Luo Yunji questioned whether the Dog God statue depicted a real creature, prompting the Great Shaman to explain that the Dog God had twice warned the Miao people of disasters.
• Luo Yunji directly asked the Great Shaman where Demon-Suppression Cave was, saying Tian Buyi had learned of it in a dream.
• The Great Shaman explained that villains who came after the Dog God’s warning had sought both a white gem and a Black Staff, then began recounting the Miao people’s history.

• The Great Wizard told Tian Buyi, Zhang Xiaofan, and Luo Yunji that the Sacred Artifacts had sealed the Beast Demons and gave Luo Yunji a map marking the Ancient Demon-Suppression Cave.

• Little Gray smashed through the strange, fire-resistant trees that attacked him in the depths of the Black Forest.
• Tian Buyi and his companions found the trail marker, left the Black Forest, and crossed seven dangerous mountain ranges to reach the black-mist-covered mountain marked on the map.
• Luo Yunji repeatedly asked for breaks while they crossed the mountain, slowing the journey.

Luo Yunji and his companions emerged from the dark space into a new area, where thirteen enormous skeletons turned to face them.

• The Black-Clad Deity revealed that the Beast Demon had inherited White Lotus’s gift of Love and had wished to become human for Linglong.
• The White-Clothed Deity explained that Luo Yunji had received his gifts, including Greed, which had become an insatiable Appetite.
• The Black-Clad Deity and the White-Clothed Deity discussed how the Beast Demon’s absorption of Heaven and Earth Malice threatened the world’s balance, and the Black-Clad Deity chose to return the malice.
• The Black-Clad Deity placed a remnant of his consciousness in Luo Yunji’s Sea of Consciousness, while the White-Clothed Deity confined him to part of the lakeshore.

Hei Mu and the others found the Beast God in Demon-Suppression Cave, where he regenerated his body after meeting Luo Yunji. The Beast God refused to teach Luo Yunji the rebirth technique, then turned his attention to Hei Mu.

• Hei Mu approached the white skeleton on a jade platform, while its thirteen skeletal guards watched him.
• The white skeleton explained that its guards’ souls remained bound to their bones, and Luo Yunji sat beside it without fear.
