Morning had just broken, and golden sunlight slipped through the gaps in the curtains, quietly falling over Xiao Yan and Xiao Yi Xian. The two nestled against each other, as though enjoying a brief peace after a long campaign.
Xiao Yan's deep eyes slowly opened in the morning light. As he sat up, the sunlight cast a hazy gleam over the muscles of his bare upper body. Looking at Xiao Yi Xian, who was still sleeping peacefully beside him, the corners of Xiao Yan's lips lifted into a lingering smile, as if he were still savoring the tender intimacy of the night before.
Sunlight fell over Xiao Yi Xian's porcelain-smooth skin, giving it a faint sheen. A light fragrance seemed to linger in the air, a marvelous blend of her natural scent and the unusual aroma of medicinal herbs. Faced with such a lovely sight, Xiao Yan could not help but sigh inwardly.
Xiao Yi Xian seemed to sense something as well. Her long lashes trembled, and she slowly opened her eyes. The moment her still-dazed gaze met Xiao Yan's, she came fully awake, and her cheeks began to flush. Feeling Xiao Yan's presence, she remembered everything from last night: his scorching breath, the warmth of his body, and his clumsy movements. Though clumsy, he had been careful and full of tenderness.
All at once, Xiao Yi Xian's face reddened even further. She shyly looked away, her long lashes casting slender shadows beneath the sunlight. An indescribable stillness and warmth filled the air, and their breathing seemed to fall into rhythm at that moment. Xiao Yi Xian lightly bit her lower lip, hesitating over whether to break the silence. In the end, however, she merely curled up slightly and nestled even closer to Xiao Yan.
